Three years ago I had surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid. The entire thyroid was surgically removed plus some of the soft tissue where the cancer had also spread. To make sure the cancer was gone I was given a radio active pill and a body scan two days later. There was no sign of cancer. It was gone. Once a year this test is repeated.

March 10th, Tuesday, of this year the cancer had returned. The radio active pill acts like a magnet being drawn to the cancer cells so that when the body scan is taken it shows very clearly. A new tumor had lodged in my left hip bone. The endocrinologist showed me the x ray of a year ago and the x ray now. There it was. The endocrinologist said we have to get rid of it but first we must make sure it has not spread to other bones in your body. This all happened on a Friday, March 11.

Saturday night Shirley and I have a Bible Study at our home. It was during this Bible study that Pastor Morrison called. I thought that he had found out the bad news. He said he felt the urge to call but really did not have a reason. While speaking to him on phone I also informed the Bible study group that the cancer had spread. Pastor VanDoren and the Bible study prayed for me.

My sister died of colon cancer. She lived with my mother. Each one denying that the cancer was slowly killing her. What a terrible loss of communication and love that they could have had at that time. That was not for me. We in the “Body” are brothers and sisters in Christ’s Royal Family. There is great comfort in that.

Pastor Morrison called me before the “Body” Sunday morning and all the Pastors put their hands on me. The whole congregation prayed for a miraculous cure. It is a humbling experience. I could feel all those messages and thoughts going up to God.

My thoughts were of Shirley. Who would take care of her. We have been married only three years. Shirley is God’s great gift and treasure to me here on earth. As long as I am alive I can provide and care for her. What will happen to her if something happens to me??

A bone scan was arranged and set up for Tuesday, April 10. It is a more intensive scan. This time a radio active substance is injected into my blood stream and a bone scan taken. This time the scan was clear. No cancer, not even in the left hip. The radiologist was surprised and put me back on the body scan machine. No cancer could be found. The endocrinologist wanted me to repeat the first series of tests just to make sure. The test was repeated and the cancer had miraculously disappeared.

Thank you Lord
  Just another miraculous miracle!!!
